It should already be obvious that I have a particular faible for retro science fiction. Comics from the 1930s to 1950s and films from the 1930s to 1960s are particularly special to me.

Milestones were laid in these time periods that form the basis for today’s works. These include Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, Forbidden Planet and Planet of the Vampires and of course Perry Rhodan.

I tried a new technique, using watercolor colors to try to capture the style of newspaper comics.

The picture was first sketched out in pencil, then colored with paint and after that the edges were drawn with ink. Freehand drawing is also important to me. It would have been easy to just scan the whole thing and draw over it.
